Martin Johnston

Martin's love of the water began early when family boating holidays introduced him to power boating, water-skiing and many other activities. While continuing with the power-boating it was about 12 years ago his son asked to try sailing which lead to a love of sailing for the whole family. Martin progressed through the training quickly and was racing his Wayfarer dinghy within a year, something he continues to do  to this day.  A year later Martin went on his first yachting holiday with the local sailing club and he was hooked. Progressing through the RYA training scheme gaining, among others, Yachtmaster and Yachtmaster Instructor qualifications. He has sailed extensively in the challenging tidal waters of the West coast of Scotland and in recent years has been sailing in the warmer waters of the Mediterranean. A Seafarer "veteran"! - Martin returns to the Ionian to skipper our cabin charter yacht and instruct when time allows.
