This resort is well established with those in the know as a top class windsurfing centre, so no doubt familiar to some in the UK. Thanks to the superb location, ideal conditions, uncrowded bay and state of the art equipment available – we love it here.

Set on the beach front within a huge sandy beach, the centre is operated by long-established specialists ‘Kefalos Windsurfing’ offering truly first class windsurfing equipment to suit all abilities from beginner to expert. A more recent development has been the introduction of foiling, with ideal conditions and the latest equipment.

We offer carefully selected neighbouring beachfront accommodation with a choice of hotels to suit your budget.

Our best value choice is the Ionikos Beach Hotel, just a short 5 minute stroll along the beach from the windsurfing centre, offering comfortable rooms, a modern pool, a sea front garden and terrace plus a restaurant and bar on site. (see details below). For those seeking a touch of luxury, the Royal bay hotel is probably the best beach hotel in the resort and is immediately adjacent to the windsurfing centre

The beach front location is stunning, though the extensive range of top quality windsurfing and foiling equipment plus the idyllic windsurfing conditions in an uncrowded bay are the real highlights of this centre.

The idea is a simple one – locate a windsurfing centre in one of the world’s best locations for consistent, sheltered winds Add first-class equipment, seasoned crew and the Aegean charm of Kos and you get the recipe for an amazing playground for watersports enthusiasts. Windsurfing and wing foiling reign supreme, with dinghy sailing and SUPs for the calm moments on the water.

Kos is one of the most beautiful and largest islands in the Aegean (it is the third largest island in the Dodecanese after Rhodes and Karpathos and has the second highest population after Rhodes). 

The village of Kefalos strung along the extensive sandy beach offers a good  choice of restaurants, cafes and shops is just a short stroll from our chosen hotels and the windsurfing centre. The wider area also offers great opportunities to explore, with archaeological sites such as the Asklepeion, the ancient home of Hippocrates the father of the medical profession, well worth a visit. The attractive capital of the island is perfect for an evening out and it is all within easy reach.

This area is blessed with warm sunshine over 300 days a year. Temperatures from early May range from the low to mid 20s in the early and late season, up to the mid to high 30s between  mid-June and August. The Meltemi winds are generally stronger from July to mid-September with afternoon winds from force 4 to force 6 almost every day. Even when breezes aren’t forecast, the geographically location of Kefalos Bay along with the thermal aspects means good afternoon breezes are highly likely.

Saturday Flights from London, Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow & Nottingham to Kos Airport. Flight time 3 hours 40 minutes.

Approximately 15 minute road transfer between the airport and Kefalos. Transfer time to out flotilla base at Kos marina is approximately 40 minutes.

We know that equipment is one of the most important things to our windsurfing friends and our commitment to you is that we have the latest gear available on the market! You aren’t fixed to a specific board during your stay as we feel you should be able to try the range available and maybe find the board of your dreams! You can pick and choose your equipment depending on the conditions, your progression through your stay, and even your mood!

All of the sails are rigged and ready to go with adjustable harness lines, booms and uphauls attached. The centre has the latest training rigs for beginners and special kiddy rigs and boards for the early starters!

Royal Bay Hotel is based right on the beach, next door to Kefalos Windsurfing, and this 45 room 4 star hotel is a perfect place to spend a week windsurfing or foiling. Set in a modern stylish building, the hotel boasts a large outdoor swimming pool, a huge sea front terrace, plus a café, restaurant and a fitness suite.  The rooms are really spacious with a modern aesthetic with all the expected  amenities including TV, wall safe, mini bar, air conditioning and of course wifi.

The spacious rooms are large enough to accommodate families of up to 5, though if you require separate bedrooms, a two-room suite is also available at a supplement.
