Area Information
Phuket, Thailand’s crown jewel island, entices beach lovers with its stunning coastlines. Clear turquoise waters lap at soft sand, inviting exploration through diving, snorkeling, or jet skiing adventures. Beyond the vibrant nightlife and delicious local cuisine, Phuket offers a glimpse into Thailand’s rich history through its many historical sites.
Phang Nga Bay, also known as Ao Phang Nga National Park, is a 400 square kilometer wonderland where towering limestone karst formations rise dramatically from the emerald green water. Imagine a landscape painted by a surrealist artist – sheer cliffs jut from the sea, some adorned with a fringe of emerald jungle clinging precariously to their slopes. Dotting the bay are over 40 islands, some mere pinnacles of rock, others larger and boasting hidden lagoons, beaches, and even caves. One of the most famous is Khao Phing Kan, better known as James Bond Island, after its starring role in the movie The Man with the Golden Gun. Exploring these hidden coves and lagoons reveals a secret world, teeming with life. Look out for playful monkeys swinging through the trees lining the cliffs, or bioluminescent plankton illuminating the water at night with an ethereal glow. Phang Nga Bay is a captivating journey into a landscape that feels untouched by time, a true gem waiting to be explored.

There are a multitude of ways to travel to our base in Phuket, whether you are joining us for the flotilla or combining it with a larger trip. We are located in Phuket Yacht Haven in the north of the island, which is easily reachable by private transport. Seafarer flotillas in Thailand start on Saturdays and Wednesdays with yachts being available to embark from around 15.00 onwards on the first day and disembarking around 9.00 at the end of the flotilla.
ATOL protection
Your flight inclusive holiday with us (should you choose this option) is financially secure as we are ATOL licensed, making the entire package ATOL protected. We have been trading since 1995 so you can book with total confidence.
Flights
Flights from London (Heathrow and Gatwick), Manchester and Birmingham with stop a en-route, approximately 15 hours total journey time to Phuket. Flights available from around £550pp and are not included in the journey time. There are also great value local flights to Bangkok which take under 2 hours.
Bus & Taxi
The easiest way to get to Phuket Yacht Haven is via taxi or minivan from the airport. We can book this for you in advance and takes approximately 30 minutes from Phuket International Airport. The main city of Phuket is in the south of the island, around 50 minutes away by taxi or minibus, both of which can be pre booked.
Sail & Stay Holidays
The area offers limitless possibilities to go exploring or relax at a superb beach resort pre and post cruise. Here are some of our choices on the island of Phuket:
Cape Panwa Hotel – Situated on the south east tip of Phuket, this 5 star resort has it’s own private beach and a wide choice of stunning accommodation, including a penthouse with it’s own infinity pool! If you want to steer clear of bustling Phuket town, this one is ideal.
Paradox Resort Phuket – Situated on Karon Beach, you are close to the beating heart of Phuket town and Patong, famous for the nightlife. The resort looks out over the beautiful white sand beach and is an ideal choice for families.
The Slate – Closer to the airport, so convenient for a shorter stay, the Slate resort offers suites and villas in a traditional Thai style, great for a couple of days to unwind before your flight home.
If you choose to extend your stay a little further afield, then we’ve got a great recommendation for a stay in Bangkok:
Lebua Hotel – Situated in the state tower, suites here give amazing views across Bangkok. The hotel is situated in the heart of this amazing vibrant city and offers a tranquil place to rest after busy days exploring the fascinating culture and sights of the city.
Of course the choices are almost limitless, so if you have a particular style, budget or location in mind, just give us a call and we will find the perfect spot to compliment your flotilla holiday.
