Day 2SundayCefalu
CefaluCefalù is the perfect first stop on Sicily’s northern coast: scenic, simple, and easy. The town is one of the most atmospheric medieval locations in Sicily, with a striking ArabNorman cathedral, narrow streets, and restaurants built directly on the rocks above the sea. -
Day 3MondayAlicudi, Aeolian Islands
Alicudi, Aeolian IslandsAlicudi is the most remote and authentic of the Aeolian Islands. It has no real road network, and daily life still moves at a different pace: donkeys remain a traditional form of transport, and houses have staircase numbers instead of street numbers. -
Day 4TuesdayFilicudi, Aeolian Islands
Filicudi, Aeolian IslandsFilicudi is one of the wildest and most fascinating islands of the archipelago. It is a perfect destination for sailors who want dramatic scenery, clear water, and a strong sense of nature. -

Day 14FridayPalermo
PalermoTime to head back to Palermo for a farewell group meal in the heart of the city.
Sail from Palermo on a journey of exploration through the Aeolian and Egadi Islands.
In another first for Seafarer, we are continuing our regular Pop Up flotilla series with a fantastic exploration east and west along the northern shore of Sicily, sailing through the Tyrrhenian Sea. We will be visiting two distinct island groups, each with their own distinct character.
We start our flotilla from the city of Palermo, the capital, a city rich in history, having been shaped by the Phoenicians, Romans, Norman and Spanish rule over the ages. The architectural footprints of these styles can be seen in the streets of the city, from Byzantine mosaics to Baroque styles with a sprinkling of Arab domes. A foodie paradise, Palermo has a vibrant street food scene and and the amazing seasonal produce is often celebrated with festivals and events amongst the narrow streets.
Your first night is spent exploring the city, drinking in the atmosphere (and perhaps a glass of Marsala wine or ice-cold Limoncello) before choosing the prefect spot for dinner. Sunday morning, refreshed, refueled and relaxed, we set sail to the east, enroute to the Aeolian islands with a mainland stop in Cefalu. From there we head out to the north-east, exploring these imposing volcanic islands for the following few days. At the end of the week we head back to Palermo, time for a pitstop and another bite of city life before heading along the coast to the western tip of the island and a chance to explore the lesser-known but beautiful Egadi Islands. Short hops, lazy days and some beautiful stops fill our time until we reluctantly head back towards Palermo for the end of our adventure.
Book a cabin and join our lead crew
If you don’t have the crew to take your own yacht, then why not join our crew on the lead / cabin charter yacht? We will be using a spacious 2025 Model Dufour 470, with three double cabins available, offering ample accommodation for crew and guests alike. You’ll be joining in with all the flotilla activities and our experienced crew will be delighted to show you the ropes – get involved with the sailing as much or as little as you like, the choice is yours.

Area Information
The Tyrrenhian sea, bordered by the western coast of Italy, Sicily, Sardinia and Corsica has been an important part of the Mediterranean sea for centuries, with the historic ports of Palermo and Naples being vital hubs of trade and navigation through the ages. Dramatic and scenic coastlines have been shaped by volcanic activity – the word “Volcano” we use today in English is derived from the Italian word “Vulcano” whose origin lies with the Roman god of fire, Vulcan.

Weather & Sailing Conditions
The weather in October is generally warm and predictable, with typical daytime temperatures in the mid 20s with cooler evenings. Wind strength is typically force 3 to 5, generally from the north west although fresher breezes are not uncommon at this time of year. The water temperature is perfect for a refreshing dip once the sailing is done.
