Τhe Ionian explorer flotilla is ideal for those looking to enjoy the Ionian islands at a great time of the year – sailing can be more challenging, with more varied conditions than are generally found during the high season. The harbours and anchorages are a little quieter, giving you the chance to sail late into the afternoon.
The highlight of this trip is certainly the middle weekend in Corfu to celebrate Easter. This is the most important and colourful celebration in the Greek calendar, and no one celebrates it quite like the Corfiots. We will moor in Mandraki harbour, within the castle grounds, giving grandstand views of the amazing Sunday night fireworks.
Each island offers something different, and we also try to visit a variety of overnight stops – larger towns like Parga and Preveza, as well as the smaller island of Paxos and the mainland.
As the weather is changeable, this particular route may be subject to some changes, so a sense of adventure and a flexible approach is definitely part of the essential packing list!

Nikiana, Lefkas
Fly UK to Preveza and transfer to our flotilla base for embarkation. Our home port is in the harbour of Nikiana on the sheltered east of the island of Lefkas, perfect for exploring the South Ionian.Lefkas Town
First stop is a short hop north to Lefkas town. a chance to get to know your yacht and to explore the backstreets. We will have a welcome punch party on the quay before our first group meal - the first of many we hope!Preveza
Through the canal and north to Preveza is today's voyage. Preveza is a great town, with some excelelnt seafood tavernas and a lively seafront.Gaios, Paxos

Across to the mainland and to Sivota Mourtos. Tucked behind the islands, it's a lovely little town and very flotilla friendly!Petriti
Time to head west across to Petriti...a sleepy fishing village and perfect to relax before some late nights in Corfu town!Mandraki, Corfu Town
North we go to the historic and atmospheric Mandrak harbour, ideal for exploring the town.Corfu Town
We are stying in Corfu town today, you don't want to miss the Easter celebrations and the fireworks, which are right overhead on Sunday night!Kassiopi
It's likely not to be the earliest start today, so a gentle sail around the north of Corfu to Kassiopi, a very chic spot, popular with locals in the know.Plataria
Back across to the mainland for a stop in Plataria, another lovely little village with a choice of seafront tavernas.Plaka
Down to Plaka, one of the most visited towns on the west coast of Greece.Vonitsa
South we go, past Preveza and into the Amracian Gulf. Vonitsa is traditional and charming in equal measure.Free Sailing
Explore a little of the gulf, head back to Preveza, or south to Lefkas or Nidri, all are possible today on your free sail.Nikiana, Lefkas

The early season weather can be changeable, ideal for some varied sailing conditions. temperatures during the day are pleasant, with averages around the mid-twenties. A shower can be expected at that time of year, and some light wet weather gear is recommended.
