A tale of two spectacular gulfs

We operate one-way routes during the summer, starting alternately in Kiato and Korfos. One week starts in Kiato and explores the Gulf of Corinth, an area off the radar for most sailors. Set foot in the quaint harbours of Galaxidi and Trizonia, where ancient charm meets modern allure, and immerse yourself in the rich culture and captivating landscapes of this region. The week then culminates with a transit of the Corinth Canal.

The second week starts in Korfos in the Saronic Gulf and explores the best of the Saronic Gulf before a voyage through the iconic canal. See the engineering marvel that has connected the Aegean and Ionian Seas, as you make your way to the sun-drenched shores of Aegina, Poros and Epidavros in the idyllic Saronic Gulf.

Each day also brings a new opportunity for exploration, whether it’s wandering through cobblestone streets lined with bougainvillea or soaking up the breathtaking views from ancient ruins overlooking the sea. Join us on this unforgettable odyssey, where every moment is filled with adventure, beauty and the promise of discovery.

How the Saronic Gulf flotilla week works

  • One-way routes, starting alternately in Kiato and Korfos
  • Weeks start on a Saturday, with direct Saturday flights to Athens
  • Embark by 17:00 and disembark at around 09:00
  • Seafarer transfers from Athens airport take around 75 minutes
  • A transit of the Corinth Canal every week, and you can combine both routes into a two-week holiday

Saronic Gulf and Corinth sailing itinerary: two one-way routes

The Corinth flotilla runs two routes: odd weeks sail the Corinth route, while even weeks sail the Saronic route. Full details of both are below, and you can also combine them into an epic two-week holiday.

The Gulf of Corinth and the Saronic Gulf

The town of Kiato, close to Corinth, sits between the Peloponnese and mainland Greece, in an area with a rich tapestry of history where ancient ruins blend seamlessly with modern life.

Where are Kiato and Korfos? Kiato is a town on the Gulf of Corinth, close to Corinth, and Korfos is a harbour on the Saronic Gulf, with the Corinth Canal between the two. The flotilla starts from one or the other depending on the week, around 75 minutes from Athens airport.

Weather and sailing conditions

Reliable sunshine on the Corinth and Saronic Gulf flotilla is all but guaranteed between May and October, with temperatures ranging from the low 20s early and late in the season up to the mid to high 30s from late June to August. Meanwhile, sailing conditions are generally moderate, with winds typically force 3 to 5.

Skippered flotilla sailing

These yachts are usually skippered by guests who hold an ICC or equivalent, but we can also provide a skipper if you have no previous sailing experience. There are several ways to reach our bases in Korfos and Kiato, whether you’re joining us for a week or combining the flotilla with a longer trip. We alternate routes, so you embark and disembark in Korfos or Kiato depending on the week, with embarkation by 17:00 and disembarkation at around 09:00.

  • Flights to the Saronic Gulf flotilla: Athens airport

    The nearest airport is Athens International (code ATH), and Seafarer transfers from there to Kiato or Korfos take around 75 minutes. Direct Saturday flights to Athens International Airport from London (Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton and Stansted), Edinburgh and Manchester, as well as from many European and worldwide airports. A wide range of flights is also available during the week.


  • Train

    Hourly, great-value trains run from Athens airport to Kiato station, with one change at Ano Liosia, and take about 90 minutes. The train station in Corinth also connects with our transfers for the onward journey to Korfos.


  • Bus and taxi

    Direct Seafarer transfers from Athens airport to the base take roughly 75 minutes. In addition, regular buses run from Athens and from many destinations across southern and western Greece to the Corinth and Istmos bus stations.

Where does the flotilla start, and which airport do I fly to?

Our bases are in Kiato, on the Gulf of Corinth close to Corinth, and in Korfos, on the Saronic Gulf. The weekly routes are one-way, so you embark in Kiato or Korfos depending on the week. You fly to Athens International Airport: direct Saturday flights leave from London (Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton and Stansted), Edinburgh and Manchester, as well as from many European and worldwide airports. What is the Saronic Gulf and Corinth sailing itinerary?

The flotilla sails two one-way routes in alternate weeks: odd weeks sail the Corinth Gulf route, from Kiato to Korfos via Antikyra, Galaxidi, Trizonia and the Corinth Canal (about 131 nautical miles), and even weeks the Saronic Gulf route, from Korfos to Kiato via Epidavros, Poros, Hydra, Perdika and the canal (about 110 nautical miles). An average day is around 18 nautical miles, and you can combine both routes into a two-week holiday. See both routes day by day.

Do you sail through the Corinth Canal every week?

Yes. Every week includes a transit of the Corinth Canal, the engineering marvel that connects the Aegean and Ionian Seas, on the way between the Gulf of Corinth and the Saronic Gulf.

How much does the Saronic Gulf flotilla cost?

Yacht prices start from £1,778 for one week (Bavaria 34, 8 May 2027), and two-week holidays are priced in the same tables. Prices are per yacht, so the cost per person depends on how many of you share it, and they change with the date and the yacht: see every date and price. Optional extras (2026 prices; 2027 to be confirmed) include a skipper (£1,495 per week), a host (£945 per week) and a stand-up paddleboard (£100 per week).

What is included?

Your fully equipped charter yacht, help from the lead crew, one full tank of fuel, a dinghy and outboard (some electric), bed linen and towels, end cleaning, area cruising notes, a welcome pack and the weekly punch party (plus a beach party for two-week guests). Not included: mooring charges away from the flotilla base, extra fuel or water, food and drinks, and personal items such as laundry. What’s included and optional extras.

When is the sailing season, and what is the weather like?

The flotilla sails from May to October, with reliable sunshine all season. Temperatures range from the low 20s early and late in the season up to the mid to high 30s from late June to August, and sailing conditions are generally moderate, with winds typically force 3 to 5.

Do I need sailing experience?

Sailing here is varied and interesting, with generally moderate winds and an average day of around 18 nautical miles. The skipper of each yacht should hold an ICC (International Certificate of Competence) or equivalent: the RYA Day Skipper Practical course makes you eligible, and we can arrange the ICC assessment. We can also provide a skipper (£1,495 per week in 2026; 2027 to be confirmed) if you have no previous sailing experience (skippered flotilla sailing). You can also see all our sailing holidays.

Can I add a stay in Athens?
