Ahoy open Water Swimmers

Seafarer have teamed up with Olympic and European Championship swimmer Ioannis Drymonakos to offer a unique island-hopping yacht trip aimed at swimmers who want to improve their technique.

Based on a comfortable air conditioned 51 foot sailing yacht, we explore the historic Saronic Gulf islands of Greece with plenty of swimming including open water crossings built into the itinerary.

The programme incorporates swimming coaching for a mixed ability group aimed at beginners or relative newcomers to open water swimming all the way up to pro swimmers. Ioannis brings his huge experience and expert knowledge of swimming to this superb programme coupled with his exceptional knowledge of Greece, having spent 4 years exploring the islands on a sailing yacht for a well-known Greek TV travel show.

Your Skipper, Host & Swim Coach - Ioannis Drymonakos

Ioannis’ career in international watersports spanned 22 years, competing in European & World championships as well as representing his beloved Greece in 3 Olympic Games. His passion for sports and travelling have seen him explore the coastline of Greece, covering more than 4,000 nautical miles in the process. During the past decade he has turned his attention to coaching others, both in the pool and in open water, developing personalised programmes and workshops. This experience makes Ioannis ideally suited to leading these cruises, enabling him to ensure that everyone, from beginners to pro swimmers, enjoys a fantastic cruise through these crystal-clear waters. He won’t be alone, ably assisted by his 1st mate, who is also a swimming coach.

The only way to travel

Our large comfortable yacht is the perfect vessels for your Greek swimming adventure, with 4 double cabins, all with air-conditioning and en-suite facilities. A maximum of eight guests are on board, together with an experienced, professional skipper & 1st mate to look after you.

Your yacht will be provisioned with a generous welcome pack including tea, coffee and fruit juices, fresh fruit, plus  everything needed for Breakfast and light lunch for the week.
Your crew will organise breakfast on the first morning and thereafter, catering on board will be a collaborative effort between the guests on board and the skipper.  The norm is to have breakfast and lunch on board whilst underway. In the evening, guests dine ashore and discover the culinary delights on offer in each destination. Should we stop at a harbour at lunchtime and you choose to eat ashore you will need to cover the cost of your lunch in a taverna or cafe.

A voyage of discovery

After a day on the water with the wind in your hair, enjoy a sun-downer on deck before exploring the local area. We like to reach harbour in the afternoon so there’s plenty of time to relax, go sightseeing or swimming before choosing a waterside taverna for dinner. Sample the local specialities, which vary from island to island and make this a voyage of culinary discovery as well as exploring the historical and cultural delights of these beautiful islands.
