The Next Goal
After Coastal Skipper, the next goal is the RYA Yachtmaster™ Coastal or Yachtmaster™ Offshore practical exam. In addition, many skippers take an ICC assessment so they can charter abroad.

How It Works
The Logbook
The RYA G158 log book covers the training scheme in detail, and you can view a copy during your course. If you plan to do multiple courses, however, we recommend buying your own copy before you travel or on arrival at one of our centres.
Modular Learning
Thanks to the modular nature of RYA training, students who need more time can also have individual sections signed off in their logbook. They can then return to an RYA centre to complete only the aspects where they need more practice.
Course Switching
While you will have booked a particular course, it is not fixed. You can change to an alternative very early on, which is particularly useful if you are unsure whether you are ready for your Day Skipper. There are no charges for this, because we always aim to ensure you get the most appropriate training.
