Our RYA sailing school runs small-group training in Greece and Croatia, as well as the UK. In the Mediterranean, for example, you can choose 6-day weeks with warm-water sailing, often alongside our summer flotillas with access to kids’ clubs.
UK courses, on the other hand, are 5 days and focus on tidal skills and confident boat handling. In short, from your first sail to Day Skipper, our RYA sailing courses guide you every step of the way. All courses are run in English.

“I’ve never sailed.”
Most students start from scratch, so we teach step by step in small groups.
“I get seasick.”
We choose sheltered routes, plan sensible days and also share practical tips.
“Will I slow the group down?”
No. We teach at a mixed pace and balance tasks, so everyone learns comfortably.
“I’m nervous about safety.”
We follow RYA standards and use modern safety kit, as well as a maximum 5:1 student to instructor ratio.
“I’m coming alone.”
Small crews and a shared goal make it easy, because you are never on your own. We can also arrange same-sex cabin shares.
“What if the weather turns?”
We adapt the plan, because safety and learning always come first.
Common Questions
Do I need any experience?
No. In fact, the RYA range of courses suits everyone. You start from first principles in small groups with patient instructors, then build skills steadily toward Day Skipper.
Do I need theory before Day Skipper Practical?
Theory is recommended. Our sailing school also offers online theory courses and will advise the best level for you. However, on the boat you must demonstrate Day Skipper theory-level knowledge.
How long are the courses?
Greece and Croatia courses generally run over a week, with 6 days of tuition. UK courses, however, are 5-day, with popular weekend refreshers also available.
What’s included, and what costs extra?
Tuition, fuel and gas, mooring fees, onboard provisions and linens are included in the Med. However, UK variations apply: mooring fees and linen are not included, and dinner is included. See centre pages for details.
Where do we sleep, and how private is it?
During the course, you live aboard the yacht. Cabins may be shared, although sole occupancy of a cabin is always possible. Solo sailors are also welcome and quickly become part of the crew.
Is it safe, and what happens in bad weather?
We follow RYA standards, and we also use modern safety kit with a maximum 5:1 ratio. If conditions deteriorate, we adjust the plan. After all, safe and fun is the motto, in line with RYA practices.
