We couldn’t wish for a better beach front location on the vast Kanali Beach, Europe’s longest, ensuring there is always plenty of space for everyone. The club has a spacious beach front garden, beach taverna and bar, a nice pool and separate children’s pool. There is a large beach front garden and a general feeling of space, whilst the hotel itself boasts spacious comfortable rooms, many with sea view. Spacious family rooms are also available and a Kids Club operates during school holidays.
Having woken up to amazing views along Kanali beach to the north and Monolithi to the south (together making up the longest uninterrupted beach in Europe), guests start their day with a hearty breakfast before heading out on the water to enjoy the unlimited watersports. Dinghy sailors and windsurfers can sail freely on our extensive range of equipment (see below) or partake in a wide variety of courses and tuition suitable for all levels.
During school holidays we operate free kids clubs for children and teenagers with the spacious beach front garden and vast beach ensuring there is lots of space for a variety of activities in a safer environment . The emphasis always tends to be on water based activities fot our kids clubs, a sure way to make the best of friends.
After a wonderful day, on or off the water, our bar offers delightful cocktails and cold beers, providing a perfect opportunity to talk about the day’s adventures. On certain evenings, we host social events with an atmosphere of warmth and excitement, where laughter and conversation flow effortlessly, while on other nights, you can choose to spend time at the club or venture further afield.
Poseidon Beach Club has just 54 air-conditioned rooms, which mean the hotel never feels crowded. The airy lobby and extensive terraces lead down to a large main swimming pool and separate children’s pool, surrounded by a spacious terrace and a few steps away from the beach-side pool bar and shaded terrace. The wide beach has plenty of sun loungers and parasols. Opposite the pool is a large lawn with shady spots offering an alternative to the beach itself. Breakfast is taken in the restaurant within the main building, whilst lunch and dinner are served at the beach-side taverna. Other facilities include indoor children’s play area and outdoor children’s playground and play area for volleyball & badminton.
The Poseidon Beach Club is located on a quiet strip of Monolithi /Kanali Beach.
Whether you want to get out on the water or just relax, the Club has something for everyone. The spacious grounds of the resort allow for teaching areas, kids club facilities and more.
Should you wish to venture out of the resort, there are a few local tavernas along with a small mini market just a short walk away.
Taxis and buses can be organised should guests wish to head into either Kanali or Preveza for an evening out.
Nearby points of interest include the town of Preveza, whilst for history buffs, ancient Nikopolis, the Nekromanteion also known as the gates of Hades, plus the Acheron River Springs are just some of the points of interest for outings to explore the local area.
Our charter and flotilla base at Nikiana in Lefkas is less than an hour’s drive, so a stay at Poseidon Beach Club can be combined with a week on a yacht whether on flotilla or bareboat, for the ideal two centre holiday. You can also combine a week here with a week an Nikiana Beach Club.
Due to the flat topography of the surrounding landscape and the wide open sea, Kanali beach boasts slightly cooler temperatures, both in and out of the water than other spots in the Mediterranean. During early and late season daily temperatures are usually in the early 20s with slightly less consistent sun. As expected temperatures rise during July and August to the mid 30s.
Kanali was chosen for the consistency of the wind. In the morning the wind comes in cross shore from the South usually around Force 2 – 3. The afternoon is when the real fun begins, with stronger winds cross shore from the North West ranging from Force 4-5, whilst the sea stays relatively flat, thanks to shelter from the nearby headland.
With Preveza/Aktio airport just 30 minutes away, Poseidon Beach Club is well served by flights from all over Europe.
We have our own Sunday morning charter flight from London Gatwick with a flight time of 3 hrs, and there are also direct UK Sunday flights from Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Edinburgh, and other London airports.
Transfers are run on a shared or private basis and take 25 to 30 minutes.
Our watersports operation, or ‘Beach,’ is the heart of the club during the day and offers dinghy & catamaran sailing plus windsurfing for all levels and abilities, along with stand-up paddleboards & kayaks. The moderate morning winds are ideal for novices or those building their confidence, whilst the afternoon winds provide ideal conditions for intermediate to advanced sailors and windsurfers. The beach opens every day at 9:00 for paddlesports and at 9:30 for sailing & windsurfing, running through till 18:00. Guests are welcome to take out any equipment during these times (weather permitting) while there are regular afternoon sailing clinics run through the week. Courses and kids club sessions run from 9:30 to 12:30 in the morning and 14:30 till 17:30 in the afternoon.

Our Kids Club has a very simple objective: To get the kids on the water as much as possible!
At no extra cost, all kids will take part in Sailing, Windsurfing, SUPing and Kayaking but with a main focus on the wind assisted disciplines. All Kids Clubs are run by RYA qualified Instructors with the aim to work on their knowledge no matter how basic.
Our Kids Clubs run on all weeks during the standard school holidays. All kids in resort will be automatically signed up to one of our three Kids Clubs.
The age ranges of the Clubs are usually 7 – 10 yo – Tiny Tackers, 11 – 14 yo Junior Gybers, 15 – 17 yo Beach Bums. These age ranges may change depending on the number of kids in resort and their ages. Each group will take to the water for a morning or afternoon each day, Monday to Saturday.
Poseidon Beach Club provides a selection of rooms suitable for parties up to 4. Double, triple and family rooms have been designed to be spacious, and come equipped with air conditioning, refrigerators, hot beverage facilities, and hair dryers.
