Kiato Harbour / Peloponnese
Fly UK to Athens and then transfer to our base in Kiato for embarkation
New for 2026, we’re relocating our winter base, providing the perfect opportunity to introduce an exciting new Explorer Flotilla.
Expanding on our popular one-week Gulf of Corinth itinerary, this special two-week voyage for the price of one takes you on an unforgettable journey through some of Greece’s most fascinating and least-explored cruising grounds. Sail the full length of the Gulfs of Corinth and Patras before continuing south along the spectacular Peloponnese coast, visiting the beautiful Ionian islands of Zakynthos and Kefalonia, before finishing at our new winter home in the historic port of Messolonghi.

This unique flotilla is ideal for sailors with an interest in Greece’s rich history and culture. Along the way you’ll have the opportunity to visit several of the country’s most important archaeological sites, including the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Delphi, as well as Ancient Corinth, Mycenae, and Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. We’ve deliberately scheduled rest days, allowing time to explore these remarkable places ashore.
The Gulf of Corinth is one of Greece’s hidden cruising gems, with picturesque destinations such as Galaxidi and the charming island of Trizonia. As the voyage continues into the Southern Ionian, you’ll discover attractive harbours and coastal towns including Kryoneri, Katakolon, Zakynthos, and Kefalonia, each offering its own distinctive character and welcoming atmosphere.
For those who enjoy sailing, autumn provides some excellent conditions, with reliable winds and uncrowded waters. For keen swimmers, sea temperatures typically remain pleasantly warm, making swimming a very real possibility throughout the month.
Our journey concludes in the historic town of Messolonghi, famous for its vast lagoon, where migrating flamingos are regularly seen at this time of year. The town is also renowned for its distinctive wooden fishermen’s stilt houses and its important place in Greek history. In 2026, Messolonghi commemorates the bicentenary of the heroic Exodus of Messolonghi, one of the defining events of the Greek War of Independence. It was here that Lord Byron spent his final days, dying while supporting the Greek struggle for freedom.
Combining outstanding sailing, spectacular scenery, fascinating history, and authentic Greek hospitality, this Explorer Flotilla truly offers something for everyone. Best of all, you’ll enjoy two unforgettable weeks of sailing for the price of one—an exceptional opportunity not to be missed.

The weather in November can be changeable, with typical daytime temperatures in the mid 20s with cooler evenings. Wind strength is typically force 3 to 5, although be prepared for stiffer breezes at this time of year. The water temperature is a pleasant 20 degrees, so still great for swimming.
