The islands and the central Dalmatian coast

Following a successful return to Split in 2023, we are back for 2026 to build on that success. From our base in ACI Marina Split, we are a 10-minute walk or a quick water taxi away from one of the jewels of the Adriatic: historic Split town and the stunning, atmospheric Diocletian’s Palace.

If you are looking for a sailing holiday that combines stunning scenery with superb sailing breezes, look no further than the Dalmatian coast and our Split flotilla. Whichever route you choose, you start and end your Split flotilla holiday at our base in ACI Marina, perfectly placed for exploring the Dalmatian coast and its islands.

How the Split flotilla week works

  • Flotillas run Saturday to Saturday
  • Yachts are ready by 17:00 on day one; you disembark at around 09:00 on the last day
  • Seafarer transfers from Split airport take around 45 minutes
  • Our flotilla crew also brief you fully each day
  • Two flotilla routes in alternate weeks, which you can also combine into a two-week Croatia sailing holiday

Two Split flotilla routes in alternate weeks

The Split flotilla runs two alternating routes, one among the islands and one along the coast to the Krka river. Full details of both are below, and you can also combine them into an epic two-week holiday.

Split flotilla routes may vary during the season according to weather and operating conditions. However, our flotilla crew will keep you fully briefed each day.

Vis, untouched for decades because of military use, now entices with secluded coves and a slower pace. Along the mainland coast you’ll also find Makarska, with the dramatic Biokovo mountains behind it, and Rogoznica, a harbour town with marinas, coves, beaches and a laid-back charm.

Weather and sailing conditions

Our Croatia flotilla season runs from May to late September. Temperatures range from the low 70s°F in early and late season to the high 80s°F and above from late June through September. Meanwhile, winds are usually predictable, moderate and occasionally fresh (force 2 to 5) in the afternoon.

Specifically, the guarantee applies to yacht and accommodation rates on our Beach Club, Flotilla, Learn to Sail and Cabin Charter programmes operated by Seafarer, and is subject to availability at the time of booking.

Not included: mooring charges (except at the flotilla base), canal fees, extra fuel or water, food and drinks, and personal items such as laundry. For sail and stay holidays, transfers from the yacht base to your accommodation are usually excluded and payable locally, unless you book a flight-inclusive package.

Skippered flotilla sailing

These yachts are usually skippered by guests who hold the right qualifications, but we can also provide a skipper if you have no previous sailing experience. You still get all the benefits of sailing as part of a flotilla: meeting others in the evenings or during the day, organised activities for children, and all the usual pleasures of yachting, from exploring and swimming in secluded bays to the simple joy of travelling under sail.

There are plenty of ways to reach our base in Split, whether you’re joining us for a week or combining the flotilla with a longer trip. We’re in ACI Marina Split, right in the heart of the city and a 15-minute walk from the historic centre, so it’s easy to reach by public or private transport. Seafarer flotillas in Croatia run Saturday to Saturday: yachts are usually ready to board by 17:00 on the first day, and you then disembark at around 09:00 at the end of the flotilla.

  • Flights

    Direct Saturday flights to Split airport from London (Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton and Stansted), Manchester and Bristol, as well as from other European airports. A wide range of flights is also available during the week.


  • Ferry

    Split ferries leave from the main port, next to the bus and train stations south-east of the historic centre, a 20-minute walk from the base. Direct ferries run to all the nearby islands and on to Dubrovnik, and international ferries run daily to various Italian ports.


  • Train

    Direct trains run to Split station, next to the bus station and a 20-minute walk from the base, from Zagreb and other Croatian destinations. Great-value overnight trains also run in summer from Budapest, where you can link to services all over Europe.


  • Bus and taxi

    Seafarer transfers from the airport to the base take 45 minutes, with prices from £50pp return. Local buses from Split centre also serve the whole metropolitan area, including the airport and Trogir, while long-distance buses run from the train station to destinations all over Croatia, including Dubrovnik.

Our base is just a stone’s throw from historic Split, and this whole stretch of coast is a treasure trove of historic towns and villages, shaped by Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman and especially Venetian and Austro-Hungarian influence, which is still reflected in the architecture and culture today. Add stunning scenery and turquoise waters, and you have all the ingredients for a perfect holiday.
