General Information

The town of Corinth is a perfect base for your sailing holiday, located  just one hours drive  south of Athens and giving you a choice of two wonderful, yet very different sailing areas with the Saronic Gulf and the Gulf of Corinth. It is also next to the spectacular Corinth Canal. Strategically positioned close to the west entrance of the Canal, you can easily venture in either direction or combine both areas over a 2 week holiday.  In the Saronic Gulf , islands such as Aegina, Aghistri, Poros and Hydra are all within easy reach as are some great stops on the Peloponnese coast such as Old Epidauros, Vathy and Methana.
In the Gulf of Corinth, you will find it much quieter and the sailing winds stronger. There are many interesting places to explore such as the little known Alkioni islands, Trizonia island and the historic Seafaring town of Galaxidi. Add to this famous ancient sites ashore, such as Delphi and Mycenae and you can see that this area has something for everyone.

Sailing Itineraries

Gulf of Corinth  – 1 week

Day 1

Fly UK to Athens and transfer by either train or taxi to Corinth harbour for embarkation.
Day 2

Alkyion Islands – (15 nm) Get away from it all in these uninhabited islands.
Day 3

Antikira – (24 nm) An atmospheric fishing village and convenient access point for the fabulous ancient site of Delphi.
Day 4

Galaxidi – (22 nm) A gem of a town, with notable traditional architecture with its ‘Kapetanospita’ and some excellent traditional tavernas, favoured by wealthy Athenians.
Day 5

Trizonia – (17 nm) This sleepy little island is something of a discovery with turquoise waters and a great little marina.
Day 6

Panormos – (12 nm) A peaceful bay on the north coast of the Gulf.
Day 7

Return to Corinth.
Day 8

Disembark and transfer to Athens airport via taxi or train.

Saronic Gulf – 1 week

Day 1

Fly UK to Athens and transfer by taxi or train to Corinth for embarkation.
Day 2

Korfos – (20 nm) Popular coastal town, after crossing the Corinth canal.
Day 3

Aegina – (15 nm) Lively town with great fish restaurants, the island is renowned for growing pistachios.
Day 4

Poros – (16m) A beautiful town, with lots of little backstreet tavernas and a bustling nightlife.
Day 5

Hydra –  One of the most photographed and painted harbours in the Med with traditional architecture and no cars, the chosen mode of transport being by donkey.
Day 6

Old Epidayros – An attractive harbour   authentic working village with character  and the gateway for the notable ancient amphitheater of the same name, still in use today.
Day 7

Return to Corinth.
Day 8

Disembark and transfer to Athens airport via train or taxi.

How to get There

The gateway airport is Athens and the transfer to Corinth takes around one hour fifteen  by road and we can arrange transfers for you. Alternatively you can take the train from Athens airport,  with an easy change at Kato Acharnai. The train journey takes around 90 minutes in total and runs every hour between 0609 and 2209, costing €12 per person per way.
