Yacht charter from Corinth, between two gulfs

The town of Corinth is a perfect base for your sailing holiday, about an hour’s drive from Athens and right next to the spectacular Corinth Canal. Close to the west entrance of the canal, it gives you a choice of two wonderful but very different sailing areas, or you can combine both over two weeks.

In the Saronic Gulf, islands such as Aegina, Agistri, Poros and Hydra are all within easy reach, as are great stops on the Peloponnese coast such as Old Epidavros, Vathy and Methana.

The Gulf of Corinth is much quieter, with stronger sailing winds and many places to explore, from the little-known Alkyonides islands to Trizonia and the historic seafaring town of Galaxidi. Add famous ancient sites such as Delphi and Mycenae, and this area has something for everyone.

    Fly to Athens. The transfer to Corinth takes around 1 hour 15 minutes by road, and we can arrange it for you.


  • Train

    Take the train from Athens airport with an easy change at Kato Acharnai. The journey takes around 90 minutes, with trains every hour between 06:09 and 22:09, costing €12 per person each way.

A suggested seven-night route west into the quieter Gulf of Corinth, with Delphi and Galaxidi along the way.

  1. Day1

    Arrive at Corinth

    Fly from the UK to Athens and transfer by train or taxi to Corinth harbour for embarkation.

  2. Day2

    Alkyonides islands (15nm)

    Get away from it all among these uninhabited islands.

  3. Day3

    Antikyra (24nm)

    An atmospheric fishing village and a convenient access point for the ancient site of Delphi.

  4. Day4

    Galaxidi (22nm)

    A gem of a town, with notable traditional captains’ houses and excellent tavernas, favoured by wealthy Athenians.

  5. Day5

    Trizonia (17nm)

    A sleepy little island and something of a discovery, with turquoise water and a great little marina.

  6. Day6

    Panormos (12nm)

    A peaceful bay on the north coast of the gulf.

  7. Day7

    Back to Corinth

    Sail back to Corinth for your last evening on board.

  8. Day8

    Disembark

    Disembark and transfer to Athens airport by taxi or train.

For a week in the Saronic Gulf instead, a suggested route crosses the Corinth Canal to Korfos, then visits Aegina, Poros, Hydra and Old Epidavros before returning to Corinth. This is a suggested route only. You are free to plan your own itinerary, and the base team will be happy to suggest harbours and anchorages to suit the weather.
