Following a successful return to Split in 2023, we are back for 2025 to build on that success. Back in the ACI Marina in Split, we are 10 minutes walk or a quick water taxi away from one of the jewels of the Adriatic, historic Split town and the stunning and atmospheric Diocletian Palace.

If you are looking for a sailing holiday that combines some stunning scenery with superb sailing breezes then look no further than the Dalmatian coast and our great Split flotilla. Area Information

Split, Croatia, is a vibrant city boasting a historic center built within a Roman palace. From Split,the central Dalmatian islands beckon sitting to the south. Brac, the largest, is known for its Zlatni Rat beach, a windsurfer’s paradise. Hvar, the sunniest island, offers charming towns, lavender fields, and a jet-set atmosphere. Vis, untouched for decades due to military use, now entices with secluded coves and a slower pace.

Hugging the mainland coast north of Split, you’ll find charming towns like Trogir with its medieval core and Makarska with its dramatic Biokovo mountain backdrop. Tucked between them, wedged between Split and Makarska, lie Primošten and Rogoznica. Primošten, with its historic core clinging to a peninsula, offers stunning beaches and a relaxed atmosphere. Rogoznica, a harbor town, caters to boaters with its marinas and coves, but also boasts beaches and a laid-back charm. Continuing northwest, the Krka National Park unfolds, where the Krka River tumbles over waterfalls and creates turquoise lakes, perfect for a refreshing dip before reaching the historic town of Skradin.

The Weather

WeatherOur Croatia flotilla season runs from May to late September. Temperatures range from the low 70s in early and late season to the high 80s plus, in late June through September. Winds are usually predictable, moderate and occasionally fresh (force 2-5) in the afternoon.

Split flotilla holiday routes may vary during the season according to weather and operating conditions. Our flotilla crew will keep you fully briefed each day.

Bertie Thompson – Flotilla Skipper

Bertie joins the Seafarer team for 2025, having run day charters and deliveries before experience on a 90ft sailing yacht. As a Yachtmaster Offshore, he has the experience and training to ensure you have a fantastic sailing holiday in Split.

Skippered Flotilla Sailing

While these yachts are generally skippered by guests themselves who hold the correct qualifications we can also provide a skipper for those with no prior sailing experience. This will still have all the benefits of sailing as part of a flotilla, meeting others in the evenings or during the day, organised activities for the kids as well as all the usual benefits of yachting, like exploring, swimming in secluded bays during the day, and the simple joy of travelling under sail. Getting there and away

There are a multitude of ways to travel to our base in Split, whether you are joining us for the week or combining it with a larger trip. We are located in ACI Marina Split, right in the heart of the city and 15 minutes walk from the historic city, which is easily reachable by both public and private transport. Seafarer flotillas in Croatia run from Saturday to Saturday with yachts being available to embark from around 16.00 onwards on the first day and disembarking around 9.00 at the end of the flotilla.

Flights

Direct Saturday flights to Split Airport from London (Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton & Stansted) Manchester and Bristol along with other European airports. Wide range of flights available during the week.

Split ferries go from the main port located together with the bus and train station to the southeast of the historic centre, 20 minutes walk from the base. Direct ferries are available to all nearby islands and onwards to Dubrovnik. International ferries are available daily to various Italian ports.

Direct trains to Split Station, located with the bus station 20 minutes walk from the base, from Zagreb and other Croatian destinations. Great value overnight trains available in the summer from Budapest where you can link to services all over Europe.

Seafarer transfers available from the airport to the base that take 45 minutes and prices start at £40pp return. Local buses from Split centre are available all over the metropolitan area including the airport and Trogir. Long distance buses go from the train station to destinations all over Croatia including Dubrovnik and to nearby local destinations.

Extend Your Holiday With A Week Onshore Before Or After Your Flotilla

Our base is just a stone’s throw from historic Split town, however this entire stretch of coast is a treasure trove of historic towns and villages. Their fascinating history reveals the influence of empires from Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman, and especially Venetian and Austro Hungarian which is very much reflected in the architecture and culture present to this day. Add stunning scenery and turquoise waters and you have all the ingredients for a perfect holiday. A few we have picked ourselves:

Hotel Peristil – In the heart of the old town, this small hotel has just 9 double rooms. If you want to explore the city, then this is the place for you.

Heritage Hotel Jupiter – Another Gem in the heart of the Diocletian palace – small (just 38 rooms) – perfect for a short break in this vibrant city.

Luxe Boutique Hotel – Seaviews and city walks from this boutique hotel in the town.

If you’d like to escape the city, then try:

Zora Hotel, Primosten – situated approximately 60 km from Split, this beach-front hotel offers everything you would need for a relaxing stay.
