A tale of two spectacular gulfs

We operate one-way routes during the summer, starting alternately in Kiato and Korfos. One week starts in Kiato and explores the Gulf of Corinth, an area off the radar for most sailors. Set foot in the quaint harbours of Galaxidi and Trizonia, where ancient charm meets modern allure, and immerse yourself in the rich culture and captivating landscapes of this region. The week then culminates with a transit of the Corinth Canal.

The second week starts in Korfos in the Saronic Gulf and explores the best of the Saronic Gulf before a voyage through the iconic canal. See the engineering marvel that has connected the Aegean and Ionian Seas, as you make your way to the sun-drenched shores of Aegina, Poros and Epidavros in the idyllic Saronic Gulf.

Each day also brings a new opportunity for exploration, whether it’s wandering through cobblestone streets lined with bougainvillea or soaking up the breathtaking views from ancient ruins overlooking the sea. Join us on this unforgettable odyssey, where every moment is filled with adventure, beauty and the promise of discovery.

How the Saronic Gulf flotilla week works

  • One-way routes, starting alternately in Kiato and Korfos
  • Weeks start on a Saturday, with direct Saturday flights to Athens
  • Embark by 17:00 and disembark at around 09:00
  • Seafarer transfers from Athens airport take around 75 minutes
  • A transit of the Corinth Canal every week, and you can combine both routes into a two-week holiday

Flotilla itineraries

Two one-way Saronic Gulf flotilla routes

The Corinth flotilla runs two routes: odd weeks sail the Corinth route, while even weeks sail the Saronic route. Full details of both are below, and you can also combine them into an epic two-week holiday.

The Corinth Canal closes on the 2nd of November 2026. While we expect the canal to reopen in March 2027, should works continue beyond the start of our season in April, we reserve the right to change our early season to provide two distinct routes within the Saronic and Argolic Gulfs. We will inform anyone affected about any change to our published itineraries as soon as the canal authorities publish official confirmation.

The Corinth Gulf route

From Kiato to Korfos, through the Corinth Canal, about 131 nautical miles over the week

Corinth flotilla routes may vary during the season according to weather and operating conditions. However, our flotilla crew will keep you fully briefed each day.

The Gulf of Corinth and the Saronic Gulf

The town of Kiato, close to Corinth, sits between the Peloponnese and mainland Greece, in an area with a rich tapestry of history where ancient ruins blend seamlessly with modern life.

Weather and sailing conditions

Reliable sunshine on the Corinth and Saronic Gulf flotilla is all but guaranteed between May and October, with temperatures ranging from the low 20s early and late in the season up to the mid to high 30s from late June to August. Meanwhile, sailing conditions are generally moderate, with winds typically force 3 to 5.

Skippered flotilla sailing

These yachts are usually skippered by guests who hold the right qualifications, but we can also provide a skipper if you have no previous sailing experience. You still get all the benefits of sailing as part of a flotilla: meeting others in the evenings or during the day, organised activities for children, and all the usual pleasures of yachting, from exploring and swimming in secluded bays to the simple joy of travelling under sail.

Getting to the Saronic Gulf flotilla

There are several ways to reach our bases in Korfos and Kiato, whether you’re joining us for a week or combining the flotilla with a longer trip. We alternate routes, so you embark and disembark in Korfos or Kiato depending on the week, with embarkation by 17:00 and disembarkation at around 09:00.

  • Flights

    Direct Saturday flights to Athens International Airport from London (Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton and Stansted), Edinburgh and Manchester, as well as from many European and worldwide airports. A wide range of flights is also available during the week.


  • Train

    Hourly, great-value trains run from Athens airport to Kiato station, with one change at Ano Liosia, and take about 90 minutes. The train station in Corinth also connects with our transfers for the onward journey to Korfos.


  • Bus and taxi

    Direct Seafarer transfers from Athens airport to the base take roughly 75 minutes. In addition, regular buses run from Athens and from many destinations across southern and western Greece to the Corinth and Istmos bus stations.

With Athens as the gateway airport for this flotilla, the sights and sites of this historic city are also well worth a visit. We have a range of great hotels at attractive rates if you want to add a couple of nights. One we favour is the Hotel Coco-Mat Athens, a 4-star hotel, with 2-night stays from £135 per person.
