Join us in Corinth for the 2024 season, as we return after the reopening of the Corinth Canal. One week sees us explore the Gulf of Corinth, an area off the radar for most sailors. Set foot in the quaint harbors of Galaxidi and Trizonia, where ancient charm meets modern allure, and immerse yourself in the rich culture and captivating landscapes that define this region. To the east our Saronic route beckons, offering a voyage through the iconic Corinth Canal itself. See engineering marvels that have connected the Aegean and Ionian Seas for centuries as we make our way towards the sun-drenched shores of Aegina, Poros, and Epidavros in the idyllic Saronic Gulf.

Each day presents a new opportunity for exploration, whether it’s wandering through cobblestone streets lined with bougainvillea or soaking in the breathtaking views from ancient ruins overlooking the sea. Seafarer Flotilla Sailing through the Corinth Canal

Area Information

Corinth, nestled between the Peloponnese and mainland Greece, boasts a rich tapestry of history, where ancient ruins blend seamlessly with modern life. The Gulf of Corinth stretches to the west, offering stunning vistas of rugged cliffs and crystalline waters, inviting travelers to explore its hidden coves and picturesque towns. Delphi, one of the most famous sites of Ancient Greece is perched in the mountains above another highlight, Galaxidi, just two of the amazing places in this quiet sailing area.

Through the Corinth Canal to the east, the Saronic Gulf captivates with its tranquil allure, where azure waters gently caress sun-kissed shores. Nestled within this enchanting expanse lies Epidavros, renowned for its ancient theater, a testament to Greece’s enduring cultural legacy and architectural mastery.

Weather & Sailing Conditions

Reliable sunshine on the Corinth & Saronic Gulf flotilla is all but guaranteed during the season between May and October, with temperatures ranging from the low 20s in early and late season up to the mid to high 30s in late June through August. Sailing conditions are generally moderate with winds typically force 3-5.

Corinth flotilla holiday routes may vary during the season according to weather and operating conditions. Our flotilla crew will keep you fully briefed each day.

Routes

The Corinth Flotilla runs two separate routes with odd weeks sailing the Corinth Route and even weeks sailing the Saronic Route. Full details of these two routes are below, please note you can combine the two into an epic two week holiday.

Note: Mooring charges (except at flotilla base), canal fees, extra fuel or water; food, drink’s and items of a personal nature such as laundry are not included. Skippered Flotilla Sailing

While these yachts are generally skippered by guests themselves who hold the correct qualifications we can also provide a skipper for those with no prior sailing experience. This will still have all the benefits of sailing as part of a flotilla, meeting others in the evenings or during the day, organised activities for the kids as well as all the usual benefits of yachting, like exploring, swimming in secluded bays during the day, and the simple joy of travelling under sail. Getting there and away

There are a multitude of ways to travel to our base in Corinth, whether you are joining us for the week or combining it with a larger trip. We are located in Korinthos Marina, right in the heart of the town, which is easily reachable by both public and private transport. Seafarer flotillas in Corinth run from Saturday to Saturday with yachts being available to embark from around 14.00 onwards on the first day and disembarking around 9.00 at the end of the flotilla.

Flights

Direct Saturday flights to Athens International Airport from London (Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton & Stanstead), Edinburgh and Manchester along with many European and Worldwide airports. Wide range of flights available during the week.

Train

Hourly great value trains from Athens Airport to Corinth station with one change (see blog) and takes about 90 minutes. This train also goes direct to central Athens and Pireaus for onward ferries to other parts of the Aegean. The train station in Corinth is a 5 minute taxi or local bus ride to the base.

Direct Seafarer transfers from Athens Airport to the base which takes roughly 75 minutes. Regular buses from Athens and a variety of destinations all over Southern & Western Greece from Corinth and Istmos bus stations.
