Yacht charter from Orhaniye, in Hisarönü bay
The village of Orhaniye, at the head of Hisarönü bay about 30 km south-west of Marmaris, sits among pine trees where locals keep beehives for the famous pine honey. It also has the Kızkumu sand bank, and just north of the village centre is Martı Marina, with modern facilities including a spa, swimming pool, beach area and a well-stocked supermarket.
Orhaniye is a perfect spot from which to explore the Datça peninsula as far as Knidos to the west, and east towards Marmaris. A mixture of small towns, quiet restaurant quays and busier harbours makes this an excellent cruising area for a yacht charter in Turkey, with great summer breezes boosted by the Meltemi in high summer.
Expect offshore north-westerly winds of 15 to 20 knots, with the afternoon Meltemi reaching Force 3 to 5, occasionally Force 6 to 7, alongside local and katabatic winds. We rate the area experience level 2.

Flights
There are direct Saturday flights from many UK airports to Dalaman or Bodrum. The base is a 1 hour 40 minute transfer from Dalaman and 2 hours 15 minutes from Bodrum.
Buses and taxis
Village buses run to and from Marmaris about five times a day, passing in front of the marina; taxis and private transfers can also be arranged.
Sail and stay
