Explore rugged shores and white sandy beaches, with plenty of picturesque, sheltered anchorages and snorkelling and diving spots. Sail along the chic Costa Smeralda, haven of the rich and famous, discover the many islands of the Maddalena Archipelago, or cross the Strait of Bonifacio to the charming south coast of Corsica.
Sardinia lies in the heart of the Mediterranean and is swept by prevailing northeasterly winds, ideal for sailing and keeping the humidity down through long, hot summers with average temperatures of 26 to 30ºC. Expect Force 5 to 6 winds of 20 to 25 knots, so the area is perhaps not suitable for beginners. Watch out for reefs, and do not anchor in protected bays where it is prohibited.

Facilities
Fly to Olbia. The airport is close to Marina di Olbia, so the transfer at the start and end of your charter is short.
Combine your charter with a stay in Bonifacio on Corsica, with its historic citadel and old town, or in Olbia itself, an authentic, affordable Sardinian town with traditional restaurants around Corso Umberto and Piazza Matteotti.
Sample itinerary
A suggested seven-night route around the Costa Smeralda and the Maddalena Archipelago, with a crossing to Corsica.
Day1
Fly to Olbia and transfer by road to the yacht base at Marina di Olbia.
Day2
A swim stop in the crystal clear water around Tavolara, a majestic limestone landmark rising 565 m above the sea like a natural lighthouse.
Day3
Visit the stunning Cala di Volpe (Bay of the Fox), then sail 5 miles north to Porto Cervo marina (booking essential) for a taste of luxury.
Day4
Visit the island famously bought by Giuseppe Garibaldi; his house is now a museum.
Day5
Some of the best sailing in the Mediterranean across the Strait of Bonifacio, where the wind funnels between Sardinia and Corsica, with spectacular views of the natural harbour and cliffs.
Day6
Sail to the protected island of Budelli to see its pink coral sand. There are plenty of safe anchorages.
Day7
The largest and liveliest island in the archipelago: choose the port of Cala Gavetta, with its small, rustic town, or one of the unspoilt bays nearby.
Day8
Sail back to Olbia to disembark.
