Seafarer x RNLI: our 30th anniversary concert and charity auction
Company news · RNLI
In 2026, we raised money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) twice. First, we marked 30 years of Seafarer with a concert in London. Then we donated a week on our Kefalonia flotilla, and the charity auctioned it for its lifesaving work, with all proceeds from the winning bid going straight to the RNLI.
In short
Our 30th anniversary concert in March 2026 raised over £2,000 for the RNLI on the night, with Seafarer matching every donation. Our charity auction holiday in Greece followed: a week on our Kefalonia flotilla, sailing the Zante route from 31 May 2026. The RNLI ran the auction itself, with bidding starting at £100, so every penny of the winning bid went to the charity.
Our 30th anniversary
How our anniversary concert raised funds for the RNLI
On 4 March 2026, we gathered a room full of the people who have shaped our first 30 years to celebrate the Seafarer 30th anniversary. We wanted to raise a glass and say thank you, but we also wanted the evening to do more than celebrate us.
One of our team volunteers with the RNLI, and hearing about that work first-hand struck a chord with our Managing Director, Chris Lorenzo. So we set up a JustGiving page for the evening and pledged to match every donation, which raised over £2,000 on the night.

The invitation-only evening took place at The Water Rats in King’s Cross, one of London’s best-loved live music venues. Singer-songwriter Phoebe White opened with a solo acoustic set before the headline act, Keystone, took to the stage, with Chris behind the drum kit for the headline set.
Colleagues, industry friends, and press filled the room. The music, the atmosphere, and the cause all came together, in the kind of evening that reminds you how much goodwill you build up over 30 years.
The auction
How the charity auction holiday worked
We donated the holiday, and the RNLI ran the auction directly through its own online auction page. That meant all proceeds from the winning bid went straight to the charity. It was a simple idea, but one that makes a real difference to the work RNLI crews do.

Thank you to everyone who bid on the holiday and shared the auction with friends and family. Every bid helped to raise the profile of the RNLI’s work, as well as funds for it.

Why the RNLI
Why we support the RNLI
At Seafarer, everything we do is connected to the sea, so supporting the RNLI feels natural. The RNLI has been saving lives at sea since 1824, and its volunteer crews provide a 24-hour lifesaving service around the coasts of the UK and Ireland. In 2024 alone, its lifeboats launched over 9,000 times, and its crews and lifeguards have saved more than 146,000 lives since the charity began.

Our anniversary concert started our fundraising, and this auction continued that effort. As our Managing Director explains, it is personal for our team.
Whilst Seafarer has undertaken fundraising initiatives for the RNLI before, it was hearing first-hand about the dedication and bravery of RNLI volunteers working within our own team that drove us to do more.
You can find out more about the charity’s lifesaving work on the RNLI website.
The prize
A week on our Kefalonia flotilla
The prize was a seven-day holiday on our Kefalonia flotilla, departing on 31 May 2026 on the Zante route, aboard our Bavaria 37, Angela.
If you have never tried a flotilla holiday, it is a slightly different way to sail, and it suits both experienced sailors and newer crews.
Your own yacht
You have your own yacht and complete freedom to explore at your own pace.
A lead crew nearby
The lead crew help plan routes, offer support, and bring the group together along the way.
The Zante route heads south from Agia Eufimia to Poros, Zakynthos Town, and Agios Nikolaos, before returning north to Sami. It mixes longer open-water passages with lively harbours and quiet anchorages. Our guide to sailing around Kefalonia covers both of our routes there.
30 years of Seafarer
From six guests to 7,000 a year
Seafarer opened its doors in 1995 in a small office at Butler’s Wharf, London. The very first trip was a cabin charter in the Cyclades, led by Chris and his wife. If you ask Chris, he will tell you the weather was rough and the guests spent the first three days seasick, but everyone had a brilliant time in the end.

Thirty years on, the scale has grown, but our commitment to personal service has not. In our anniversary year, our guests recognised this with a Feefo Platinum Trusted Service Award for the sixth year in a row. Feefo is an independent reviews platform, so it means a lot, and you can read what our guests say.

We are as excited about what is ahead as we are proud of what is behind us, and none of it would have been possible without the people who have sailed with us. Thank you, and here is to the next 30 years.
